First results of the 3D print jetted dental elements worldwide

This Summer Fieldlab Multi-Material 3D Océ, Van Mierlo Ingenieursbureau, Brightlands Material Center and AMSYSTEMS Center have developed a 3D printer, the Multi Material 3D Test Printer (MM3DTP).

The controlling of the MM3DTP printer is done by Van Mierlo Ingenieursbureau. With this printer Océ, Van Mierlo Ingenieursbureau, Brightlands Material Center and AMSYSTEMS Center aim to develop Océ’s 3D Workflow and print strategy on site at Océ in Venlo. To show the abilities of this 3D printer Océ has printed the first 3D print jetted dental elements wordlwide in this set-up (see the pictures on the right) and is part of the acceptance test at Van Mierlo.

What’s next
The next step is to combine Océ’s inkjet technology with the Lepus Next Gen Printer of AMSYSTEMS Center. This combination is required to show the feasibility of the colourisation of the single color dental resins from NextDent, a 3D Systems company. Brightlands Materials Center modifies the dental resin to gain the right colour and mechanical properties. The partners strive to achieve this by next year, July 2019. Due to the good results the partners are looking forward to the follow up.
